10 Interesting “Would You Rather” Questions…Side Hustle Edition

by | Jun 22, 2023 | Content Writing

I did two 10-question challenges last week and they were a lot of fun. Jamie from Minimalist Hustler posted this one and I’m a gonna do it.

Sidenote: I don’t have a side hustle, so I’m approaching this as a solopreneur.

1. Would you rather get 1 million dollars or 1 million followers on your favorite social media platform?

Oh gads, that’s an easy one, 1 million dollars. I’m not a fan of social media to start with and with 1 million dollars, one my philanthropy goals is to create a solopreneur mentorship program for youth at risk. The bucks would mean I could do it faster.

2. Would you rather earn 6 figures a year as a famous influencer or as an anonymous author?

An anonymous author. I’m already an introvert to start with and being a famous influencer draws attention or the obligation for engagement on a high level. Plus there’s something mysterious about being an anonymous author. I can listen to what people say in the bookstores. 😁

3. Would you rather have 1,000 clients that pay you $50 a month or 10 clients that pay you $5,000 a month?

10 clients that pay me $5,000 a month. There’s no way I could provide quality service to 1,000 clients. Plus 10 clients is more intimate, I can provide them the best possible quality of service and it won’t burn me out.

4. Would you rather have location freedom or time freedom?

Oh that’s a hard one. I would say time freedom. I’m 58 and although I wouldn’t change anything from the past, time seems to be going by really fast and I feel there’s so much more to do.

5. Would you rather make money from designs or words?

If designs means graphic design, website design, I would say words. I’ve done website design for 28 going on 29 years and I’m done. I don’t mind teaching it, but done building it. Words, now that’s something I love exploring and experimenting with.

6. Would you rather do 10% more work to make 10% more or do 10% less work to make 10% less?

10% less work to make 10% less. I’m 58, there’s your answer 🤣

7. Would you rather work 40 hours a week for someone else or 60 hours a week for yourself assuming the income was the same?

Been there, done that. If I had to do it again, I’d still make the same choice of working for myself. It’s the freedom that’s the deal breaker for me. And if I’m going to work my ass of making someone else the bucks, I’d rather do it for a client instead of a traditional boss.

8. Would you rather work from home or from an office?

Joe and I actually had an office and data centre for our website servers over 20 years ago. Biggest mistake we ever made. The overhead was insane, managing employees, forget it. I prefer working from home where it’s on my time and if I want to work in my pj’s, I can.

9. Would you rather run a business from your phone or from a laptop?

Laptop, because I hate all smartphones. Truthfully, my fingers are just clumsy. I run my business from a laptop, but have a massive curved wide screen monitor in the middle, another monitor on the left and my laptop on the right. Takes me too long to do everything from a tiny laptop screen.

10. Would you rather outsource all the work or do all the work (no in-between)?

If my name is on it, I want to do all the work. Credibility and trust is hard to build with a client and not worth the risk of outsourcing. And because I’m a rule breaker, I would do half and half.

So there you go. Was there anything that surprised you about me? let me know.

Until next time, stay inspired!

Gisèle
